TUTTOFOOD 2025 is set to become a leading event for the global Food & Beverage industry, featuring significant international participation and a strategic emphasis on Asian and Pacific markets. According to data presented during the Japanese stage of the international roadshow "The Italian Aperitivo", organized by TUTTOFOOD Milano 2025, 12% of participating companies will hail from the Asia-Pacific region, including China, highlighting the region's crucial role in driving the growth of Italian agri-food exports.
Asia-Pacific market growth and opportunities for Made in Italy
The Asia-Pacific region is rapidly emerging as an attractive market for Italy and global trade, driven by consistently rising demand. NielsenIQ reports that consumer packaged goods in this region have seen a 2.7% increase in value, supported by a significant rise in sales volume, which shifted from -0.9% in 2023 to +2.5% in 2024. This upward trend is further fueled by a slowdown in price inflation per unit (from +2.6% to +0.2%), positioning volume growth as a key driver for 2025.
Within the food sector, fresh food stands out as the fastest-growing category worldwide, achieving a 3% increase in sales volume within the Asia-Pacific region. Italian food products experiencing increased demand include ground and whole-bean coffee (+2.3%), dried pasta (+5.8%), olive oil (+6.1%), and tomato concentrate (+8.1%).
"The Italian Aperitivo" Roadshow: A global showcase for TUTTOFOOD
"The Italian Aperitivo", an international roadshow organized by Fiere di Parma and Agenzia ICE, aims to raise global awareness about the event and strengthen participation among exhibitors and buyers. This promotional tour has visited influential cities, including New York, Paris, Dubai, and Tokyo, coinciding with key international trade fairs and offering exclusive networking and business opportunities.
The Japanese event, hosted by the Italian Embassy in Tokyo during Foodex Japan, provided an important meeting point for Italian companies and Asian stakeholders. The gathering drew Japanese business leaders, international buyers, trade promotion organizations (TPOs), journalists, and industry experts, who were welcomed by Ambassador Gianluigi Benedetti and Fiere di Parma CEO Antonio Cellie.
During the event, organizers confirmed the attendance of a substantial Japanese delegation at TUTTOFOOD 2025, facilitated through cooperation with local ITA Tokyo offices and Koelnmesse GmbH.
